Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Red Bank New Jersey has the perfect event for food and wine lovers. Join Red Bank for their annual food and wine walk. Happening every third Thursday of the month, it is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon with friends or with a special friend as a date. Purchase a $35 wrist band for access to all the best the restaurants of Red Bank have to offer. Enjoy the afternoon strolling through the historic and scenic town as you sample all the food and wine that is offered throughout the business district in Red Bank.

Red Bank will offer a limited amount of wrist bands for the day. Wrist bands can be purchase at 1:30, just a half hour before the events starts and can be brought at the following locations:

  • Danny’s Grill & Wine Bar – 11 Bridge Avenue
  • Red Restaurant & Lounge – 3 Broad Street
  • Teak – 64 Monmouth Street

Don’t forget to bring your id, as this is a 21 and only offer and they will be checked before purchase is allowed. Once you have received your wrist band you will be given a map, because of course you don’t want to get lost. And of you go on your adventure.

Fun Events This Weekend at The Jersey Shore: May 21-23, 2010


Beach at the Jersey ShoreLooking for something fun to do at The Jersey Shore this weekend? It’s hump day and we’re already thinking about relaxing and attending some fun local events.  Bring the family, there are lots of fun events May 21-23, 2010 at the shore.  It’s the LAST weekend before summer season.  Beat the crowds and come visit us.  We’ve got some rooms left at the Comfort Inn Middletown-Red Bank but call soon our double-bedded rooms book up quickly.

If you like Sports, you’re in luck! The Jersey Shore is a hotbed of sports activity this weekend. It all starts Friday night, May 21st when the Lakewood Blue Claws play at home vs. West Virginia Power at First Energy Field 7:05pm. For an added bonus, there will also be a post game fireworks display.  Saturday, May 22 is Opening Day at Monmouth Park Race Track with FREE Grandstand Admission and half-price Clubhouse Admission to welcome race fans back to the park. Be sure to check out the Great Destinations Celebration Travel Show sponsored by the Star-Ledger. The Show features all the best that New Jersey has to offer.  Are you a Mets or Yankees fan? The SeaStreak Ferry is located 3 miles from the hotel and they are running their Saturday and Sunday package to the Subway Series at Citi Field on May 22 and 23.  Advance purchase on tickets is required.  Avoid the traffic and relax on board. Bar and food services available.

Not much of a sports fan but love the Arts? There’s plenty for you as well. May 21 is the monthly “Night of the Arts” in Asbury Park. Night of the Arts is a monthly arts event held on the third Friday of every month that presents a sampling of the best arts in Downtown Asbury Park.  Count Basie Theatre is featuring the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Saturday, May 22 at 8:00pm.  The Sounds of the Highlands Concert will take place at the Central Baptist Church, 3rd and E. Highland Ave., in Atlantic Highlands 7:30pm.  Featuring The Corialis Chamber Trio, a classical trio and the Dan Wilensky Quartet, jazz musicians. The 16th Annual Two Rivers Garden Tour features a tour of seven gardens in Rumson and The Grove West Organic Community Garden and will take place on Saturday, May 22, 2010.

There’s even something for you History buffs. Friday, May 21 at Sandy Hook there will be a World War II Defense Lantern Tour. This very special night tour takes a look at how Fort Hancock’s big guns protected New York City during the Second World War. Please bring a flashlight. Fort Hancock Museum at Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook Unit.  Then on May 23 the Hook will have Coastal Defenses Day from 12:00pm to 4:00m at the Fort Hancock parade Grounds. Fort Hancock return to life circa 1943 on this special day. Soldiers will be dressed in period garb and you can see how they lived at the time. Participate in loading guns, be a gun pointer and learn how to track ships, then visit the plotting room and learned how guns were aimed.

Events that don’t really fit into any mold? The Galleria Red Bank Farmers Market happens every Sunday until November 14 and offers fresh, locally grown produce from some of New Jerseys finest farmers as well as showcasing unique crafts and wonderful eateries. Located in The Galleria Red Bank Parking Lot Corner of Bridge Ave and West Front St, Red Bank.  Out on Sandy Hook participate in Ocean Fun Days at the New Jersey Marine Science Consortium, Building 22 at Fort Hancock from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, May 23.  It is their annual open house with exhibits, tours, touch tanks, crab races, kid activities and more.

The summer fun is starting already at the Jersey Shore and there much to do right near the Comfort Inn Middletown-Red Bank. Spend your weekend at the shore, on top of all of these great weekend events, there are great restaurants, pubs and attractions to experience.
