Asbury Park Rocks With Musical Heritage

Asbury Park is gearing up for 2011 and a year-long celebration of musical heritage at the Jersey Shore. Is there a better way to celebrate musical heritage than a kick off concert?  We didn’t think so. Headlining the show is Glen Burtnik and Friends along with Outside the Box, The Mayor’s Players and Victory Gin.  Join us Thursday, November 18th 7:00pm at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. General admission tickets are $20 and VIP tickets are $100. Tickets can be reserved through The Stone Pony box office or Ticketmaster.com.

From the Asbury Park Where Music Lives Website

The Smithsonian Institute selected Asbury Park as a site for its traveling musical heritage exhibit: New Harmonies. The exhibit will come to Asbury Park in March of 2011 and we will be the first urban city to host this display. In honor of this award, we have decided to create a year-long series of events that embrace the rich musical heritage of our great city. It is our intention to brand Asbury Park as a musical mecca. Although we are very early in the planning stages we expect this celebration to include concerts, art exhibitions, plays, educational programs, lectures, films and much, much more.
