The Vans Warped Tour is a touring music and extreme sports festival. The tour is held in venues such as parking lots or fields upon which the stages and other structures are erected. This year the Van Warped Tour hits the Jersey Shore at Monmouth Park on Sunday, July 18, 2010.  The BMX/skateboarding shoe manufacturer Vans, among others, has sponsored the tour every year since 1995. The tour started out as a showcase for punk rock music, but its more recent line-ups have featured a diversity of genres.  There will still be live racing at Monmouth Park the same day and they will still have Family Fun Day.

The Bradley Beach Lobster Fest returns Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 12-8pm at the 5th Avenue Beach Front Pavilion. Entrance to the event is free. Fun children’s entertainment, great seating areas and live music all day.   This is a rain or shine events.  They will be running a trolley service from the Bradley Beach train station. Easy enough to miss the traffic then, our hotel is located within a mile of the Middletown Train Station.  Hop aboard and the adult fare is $6.00 each way.  I don’t know about you but, I’d gladly pay that  as opposed to sitting in Parkway traffic.  There will be beer and wine available with proper ID’s.  Seating available but bringing a beach blanket is recommended. For more information on Lobster Fest visit the Bradley Beach Chamber of Commerce here.

If you’re heading to town for any of these great events, we’d love to have you stay with us at the Comfort Inn Middletown.  If you’ve attended one of these events before, like the Sand Castle Contest, Metroman Triathalon or Lobster Fest and have any good advice or stories, please leave them in the comments below.  I’d love to hear from you. If you want to come back and post your comments after the event, we’d love that too!  Happy summer to you.
