It’s going to be another busy weekend here at the Jersey Shore. Seafood Fest in Belmar was a huge success last weekend and there are more great Jersey Shore events this coming weekend. It’s making me bummed out I have to work on Sunday. There are great shows, fireworks, sports and much more! Here’s what’s up for the rest of the week to come.
Everyone one loves fireworks right? Looking for a great way to kick off the end of the school year and the start of summer? Come to the Asbury Park Summer Fireworks on the Asbury Park Boardwalk Wednesday, June 16, 2010. The fireworks start around 9:00pm weather permitting. Get there early and enjoy a nice dinner or cocktail at one of the many fine restaurants and bars at the boardwalk. Not hungry or thirsty? Take a nice stroll along the shore and unwind.
Thursdays By the Sea is a week-night music series featuring local Jersey Shore talent. This week’s performer is a local favorite, Tim McLoone. Thursdays by the Sea starts at 7:00pm at Festival Plaza 1 Chelsea Ave, Long Branch at 7:00pm.
Liza Minnelli will be in concert at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County. The show starts at 8:00pm and tickets can be purchased at the Stone Pony Box Office or at ticketmaster.com
The annual George Sheehan Classic Run in Red Bank provides a weekend of events. Friday night see the Tom Miller Band in concert, sponsored by New Jersey Natural Gas. The race is a 5 mile run through downtown Red Bank with a picnic party in Marine Park to follow. There will also be a Runner’s Expo Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.
Baseball and Fireworks? Awesome combination! Every home stand Friday the Lakewood BlueClaws have fireworks immediately following the game. This Friday, the BlueClaws take on the Kannapolis Intimidators at First Energy Field 7:05pm.
The downtown district of Red Bank will celebrate Street Life from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, June 12. The sidewalks of Red Bank will be alive with music and entertainment on Saturday nights throughout the summer as Red Bank RiverCenter presents, ‘StreetLife.’ Residents, visitors, and businesses alike look forward to the free summer performances of the StreetLife program; now in its tenth year. StreetLife will take place in front of various businesses from Broad Street to the Red Bank Train Station and throughout the entire Red Bank business district. Paula Poundstone will be bringing on the laughs at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank on Saturday, June 19th. One of Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time, Paula Poundstone is a frequent panelist on the National Public Radio news quiz show Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! and a regular guest on A Prairie Home Companion.
The Galleria Red Bank Farmers Market takes place every Sunday May through November from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Offering fresh, locally grown produce from some of New Jerseys finest farmers as well as showcasing unique crafts and wonderful eateries. The 30 plus vendors are set up in The Galleria Red Bank Parking Lot Corner of Bridge Ave and West Front St, Red Bank.

Long Branch Blues on the Beach is a Sunday night music series featuring local bands playing jazz and blues. This week’s performer: Sonny Kenn West End Park Brighton Avenue, Long Branch from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
