5 Rainy Day Things To Do At The Jersey Shore

Nothing ruins a good vacation quicker than bad weather but never fear, there are lots of great things to do and see on a rainy day at the Jersey Shore. It would take me all day to write this post if I included everything here so I’ll start with five and make future posts on the same topic. The first five that come to mind for no particular reason are as follows.

Silverball Pinball Museum on the Asbury Park Boardwalk

Have an afternoon or evening of gaming at the Silverball Pinball Museum in Asbury Park, NJ. A museum and arcade in one, Silverball has on display and ready to play 200 pinball machines mainly from the 1930’s to the 80’s in a 5,000 square foot location on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Visitors of all ages, from elementary students to retirees, are discovering and rediscovering the lure of the flashing lights, exciting sounds and addictive challenges only old school pinball machines can provide.   The Asbury Park Boardwalk is also in walking distance to great restaurants and watering holes.

Pack up the kids and head over to Funtime America an indoor fun park featuring carnival rides, laser tag, and hi-tech video games. FunTime America has over 40,000 sq. ft. of incredible entertainment. Emphasis is on safe, family fun at a price that everyone can afford. Stop in and check out the rides, play the hottest arcade games or challenge your friends to an exciting game of laser tag.  Located on Route 35 in Cliffwood, NJ, Funtime America is easy to find from the Comfort Inn Middletown.

Take in a show at the famed Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. Almost every night of the week sees action on the stage. Check out the event schedule and see who or what  is playing. The Count Basie Theatre is located right in the heart of downtown Red Bank known as a night time hot spot with plenty of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area.

Shop at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in Tinton Falls, NJ. The walkway to the shops is undercover so you won’t get wet. There are stores aplenty for all kinds of shoppers.  Conveniently  located right of Garden State Parkway Exit 100. With 120 Outlet Stores  Find impressive savings at Adidas, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, Elie Tahari, J.Crew, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, Kenneth Cole, Michael Kors, Nike, Sony, Theory, Tommy Hilfiger, Ugg. (Just to name a few.)

Seal at Jenkinson's Aquarium

Visit Jenkinson’s Aquarium on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk. Exhibits such as Atlantic sharks, Pacific sharks, coral reefs, penguins, alligators and seals give you the opportunity to get up close to animals from around the globe. Another attraction, the touch tank, allows visitors to touch live animals ranging from a sea star to a sting ray.

If you are a Jersey Shore location that is great in the bad weather or good for that matter and want me to include you in a post leave me a message in the comments section below or send me an email.

We  hope your trip to The Shore is full of sunshine and fun.  If the weather doesn’t cooperate your trip will not be in vain. 1. The Silverball Pinball Museum is a lot of fun but I really want to visit Jenkinson’s Aquarium. Nice subject to blog about. Look forward to more rainy day ideas.

    • I’ve heard nothing but good things about the aquarium. I need more rainy day ideas, I’ve lived here less than a year and have yet to uncover the hidden Jersey Shore secrets. Thanks for commenting Joanna 🙂
