Jersey Shore Events June 4-6, 2010


It’s back to work on a Tuesday after a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend at the Jersey Shore.  The good news is, only four days to go.  The upcoming weekend is busy with Jersey Shore events near the Comfort Inn Middletown you will not want to miss.  The full calendar is available on Monmouth County Tourism’s website. Below is a sampling of fun events what we were able to find.

The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park will feature the “Happy Together Tour 25th Anniversary” on June 4th at 8:00pm. Starring: The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie The Monkees Lead Singer Micky Dolenz The Grass Roots starring Rob Grill, Mark Lindsay former Lead Singer of Paul Revere and The Raiders The Buckinghams and many, many more. The theatre is located at 1300 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park.

Steven Wright takes the stage at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank on  Friday June 4th at 8:00pm. Best know for his slow, monotone delivery of ironic, clever and often peculiar jokes and one-liners, come enjoy an evening with comedian Steven Wright. The Count Basie Theatre is located at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank.

On Saturday, June 5th the Colts Neck Classic Car Show will take place as a part of Colts Neck Old Towne Day from 10:00am to 4:00pm. More than 100 Vintage Vehicles on display. Fun also includes sidewalk sales, antique auction, live entertainment, and a variety of different food on Route 34 North & South, Colts Neck.

The downtown district of Red Bank will celebrate Street Life from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday, June 5.  The sidewalks of Red Bank will be alive with music and entertainment on Saturday nights throughout the summer as Red Bank RiverCenter presents, ‘StreetLife.’ Residents, visitors, and businesses alike look forward to the free summer performances of the StreetLife program; now in its tenth year. StreetLife will take place in front of various businesses from Broad Street to the Red Bank Train Station and throughout the entire Red Bank business district. SeaStreak has packages available to take the ferry to see the NY Mets take on the Florida Marlins at Citi Field on June 5 or 6, 2010. Packages include upper tier tickets or boat only trips are available also. Skip the traffic, paying for parking and the headache. Take the boat to the game. Food, beverages and bar service available on-board.  Must be booked in advance, visit the SeaStreak website for more details.

Ocean Grove will have their annual Giant Spring Flea Market on Saturday, June 5th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Over 300 vendors selling new, used and antique items. This is a rain or shine event.  Sponsored by the Ocean Grove Area Chamber of Commerce. Ocean Pathway, Ocean Grove. This years Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival will be held at Monmouth Park Racetrack on June 5th and 6th from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. The Festival will once again showcase talented local bands performing simultaneously on multiple stages capped by appearances of nationally known blues and jazz artists. Food vendors and crafters, traditionally a part of the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Festival, will be following the event to its new racetrack location. First Saturday Asbury Park for June will be on Saturday, June 5.  Asbury Park business owners and community leaders, local residents and out-of-town visitors will celebrate PRIDE Weekend with a spectacular line-up of music, entertainment, dining, shopping and more from the Boardwalk to the Downtown. Everything’s open 6 to 10 p.m. and even later. Free parking in the Bangs Avenue Garage, courtesy of Taka. Free trolley rides too.

PRIDE Weekend in Asbury Park on Sunday, June 6th for the 19th Annual LGBTI Pride Celebration 12:00pm to 7:00pm featuring live music, festival shopping, family zone, and a parade.  Takes place on the always festive Asbury Park Boardwalk.

The Galleria Red Bank Farmers Market takes place every Sunday May through November from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Offering fresh, locally grown produce from some of New Jerseys finest farmers as well as showcasing unique crafts and wonderful eateries. The 30 plus vendors are set up in The Galleria Red Bank Parking Lot Corner of Bridge Ave and West Front St, Red Bank.

Monmouth Park Family Fun Day Bring the kids to enjoy FREE Family Fun Day activities including pony rides, face painters, clowns, a bounce house and more. All Family Fun Day activities last 12-4pm. Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport.

Bradley Beach Recreation presents its Annual Go Fish Day 10 AM to 1 PM at Sylvan Lake. Children up to age 16 are eligible to participate. All bait and hooks will be provided. If you do not have a fishing pole of your own, one will be provided. Registration fee is $7.00. For more information on Bradley Beach Go Fish Day.
