The gorgeous weather this past weekend was certainly a summer preview. We cranked up the AC in the house. At first I thought it was kind of crazy. Then I went on a gardening spree and about had heat stroke! The beaches at the Jersey Shore are free until Memorial Day and it’s not crazy crowded yet.
We got our act together early on Saturday morning and headed out to Donovan’s Reef in Sea Bright. One of my favorite Jersey Shore hangouts. There was no cover to get in, I’ve missed the cheeseburgers, we actually got a parking spot and it was perfect beach weather. I did not get brave enough to stick a toe in the water, I can only imagine it was freezing.
The beach in Sea Bright was hit hard by the steady onslaught of nor’easter that hit the area this past winter. There appeared to be significant beach erosion however it was a great time as always. Our Miller Lite and Heineken cans were beautifully cold and an afternoon beer always tastes better with your feet in the sand.
The Sea Bright Business Alliance had their annual Taste of Sea Bright Trolley Hop on Saturday, May 1st from 12:00pm to 5:30pm. It looked like a really fun time and it is now on the list of things to do next year. For $40 they gave an admission bracelets, map/passport to participating businesses, all food. drinks, cocktails, unlimited trolley/bus rides throughout the event. They also gave out a bright green Sea Bright Business Alliance back pack which is what made me notice there was something going on.
There’s plenty of fun things to do at the Jersey Shore year round. The Comfort Inn Middletown has pre-season rates in effect until Memorial Day. Plan your trip and stay with us. We’ll gladly steer you to the best Jersey Shore things to do, places to eat and hang out.
