I’m having a hard time thinking of something to post today before the weekend. I was just reading the Two River Times and they have a short blurb in there about a fundraiser for the Jersey Shore Thunder 12U baseball team fundraiser on March 6th. They will be heading to Cooperstown, NY to play in a tournament at the Cooperstown Dreams Park July 17-23, 2010.
I moved to Middletown, NJ in July of 2009 to become the Sales Manager at the Comfort Inn Middletown. Prior to my move, I worked my way up through the ranks at the Holiday Inn Oneonta-Coopertsown Area after college to finally leave the hotel as the Director of Sales.
The area up there is bustling all summer long with baseball tournaments. The Cooperstown Dreams Park is the premiere park to play for summer tournaments and the experience is unique. The members of the team and the coaches stay in a campus or dorm style setting right on the Dreams Park compound. There are numerous baseball fields and games going on simultaneously. The Dreams Park inducts each player that comes to the tournaments into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. A picture of the player with his team is taken and each player receives a commemorative ring.
If you have the opportunity, help support the Jersey Shore Thunder Baseball team and their “quest” to Cooperstown. The pasta dinner is casual and there will be two seatings: one from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and another from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Little Silver Fire House. The members of the team will be serving dinner. The Menus is Baked Ziti, Meatballs, Salad and Bread which has been generously donated by Gianni’s Pizza. Dessert will be donated by The Shadowbrook.
