Happy Holidays! Make Your New Year’s Eve Plans

Our lobby & breakfast room decorated with holiday cheer

Is your house going to be overcrowded during the Holidays? The Middletown Comfort Inn is running a Friends and Family special of $74.99 for a single queen bed now until December 30, 2009. Believe it or not, there’s less than two weeks to plan how you will ring in the New Year.  It’s amazing how time flies, especially around the holidays.

The Comfort Inn Middletown-Red Bank, NJ wants to be in on your celebratory plans.  Our COMFORTable little Inn features 81 guest rooms and our rates include our “recovery” deluxe continental breakfast. The Comfort Inn is conveniently located on Route 35 South in Middletown right next to the Outback Steakhouse. All of the celebrations and night life in Middletown and downtown Red Bank are only a quick cab ride away.

There are some really great parties going on in the local area and here are some of the ones with links I’ve been able to uncover. The Shadowbrook is offering The Ultimate Package with Dinner & Dancing with Billy Drew Entertainment.   The Count Basie Theatre will have Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, a show that is not to be missed. Gaetano’s Restaurant in Red Bank is serving an all inclusive 5 Course Dinner or you can order a la carte from a special New Year’s Eve menu.   Jacques in Middletown is featuring their Gala Reception with Live Entertainment by Black Tie Boogie.  The Downtown on West Front Street in Red Bank is taking reservations for their 2nd floor lounge and there is no cover for the first floor bar.    The Buttonwood Manor in Matawan is offering a variety of party options including a Gala, Dinner, Party, Dinner Menu and Open House in the bar for those not dining.

The Middletown Red Bank Comfort Inn wants you to enjoy all of the festivities that New Year’s Eve brings and we want you to do it safely. Our front desk is available 24 hours a day and we’ll be happy to take your reservation or walk you in anytime, day or night.  With the flurry of activity that comes between Christmas and New Year’s it’s easy to forget some common sense tactics.

Drinking and driving is not the way to start off the new year or end the old one. A driver should be designated before the first drink. Keep in mind that driving with a buzz is drunk driving.   Public transportation is a great option. New Jersey Transit runs trains out of Middletown and Red Bank and both stations are conveniently close to the Comfort Inn. New Jersey Transit also has a bus stop located right in front of the hotel on the corner of Route 35 and Woodland Drive. Middletown Red Bank Yellow Taxi cab and Yellow Car Companies offer taxi service to and from your destination.  If your plans include high style travel contact Red Bank Limo or Royal Limousine & Coach Lines and to see their transportation options.

Knowing the effects of the drinks you are serving or consuming is important as well. Remember that beer and wine are just as intoxicating as hard liquor. A 12-ounce beer, a 5-ounce glass of wine, a 12-ounce wine cooler and a shot and a half of liquor all contain the same amount of alcohol.  Mixers do not help dilute the alcohol. In fact carbonated mixers cause alcohol to be absorbed more quickly and sweet mixers mask the taste and can cause people to consume more drinks than they normally would.

Now is a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. If you are hosting a party make sure you do this a few days before the big day to ensure you have time.   Don’t leave candles or open flames unattended or in areas with children and/or pets.  Large crowds and noise can easily scare pets. Make efforts to desensitize them to noises and make sure their ID tags are on and up to date.

Happy Holidays to all and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year. For reservations call 732.671.3400 or visit us here.
